 Commission process for the renewing notary

1.  Complete the required education program (see above)

2.  Sign-up and  take the state exam (required). Click here.  The state is currently taking 10 to 12 weeks to issue notary commissions.  You will receive your new commission within 40 days of the expiration date  of

your old commission.

3.  Submit a passport color 2X2 photo when you take the state exam...new requirement.                 

4.  Fingerprints are now required of all new and renewing notaries.

5. All renewing notaries must purchase another Bond and take the oath of office again.

Instructions For The Renewing Notary Class Online

  1.  Begin the Class

Click the "Enter the Class Button" shown above.  Save the class URL in your favorites so that you be able to access the class anytime or return to this page to re-enter the class.  When you complete the class return to this page to pay for the class ($44.00)

After purchasing the class click "RETURN TO MERCHANT" in the PayPal page and you will automatically be directed to the Student's Affidavit of Completion page (See below).

2.  Complete the Student's Affidavit of Completion 

This is your declaration that you have completed the class. Click "send" at the bottom of the Student's Affidavit...it will be email to us automatically. If you do not see a thank you page after clicking "send" please complete the Affidavit again and re-send. This class generally takes 3 hours to complete; however, the burden of proof, as to how long you have spent on the class, is with you...the student.

Proof of Completion

Your Proof of Completion will be emailed to you.  This is the document the State requires that proves you have completed the education element of the renewal process. The state recommends that you submit the Proof of Completion when you take the state exam.  The Proof of Completion is good for two years.

PLEASE NOTE:  Your Proof of Completion will not be sent until we can verify that you have paid for the class and we have received your Student's Affidavit of Completion.  You must pay for the class before completing the Student's Affidavit...(see above).   Thank you.

You may print the class by clicking print in your browser.  Please note, the entire class workbook will not print unless you highlight and print just the pages you want. It is recommended that you print the practice tests.
